Cooking with Stainless Steel any good ?
Cooking with Stainless Steel has always intimidated me. I prefer the
“cheater method” of using so many varieties of non-stick cookware which are
available nowadays in the market which you can certainlly check out anytime. What I don’t prefer is harmful chemicals which are getting in my food,
non-stick surfaces eroding, or having to use special tools to
keep up the surface from getting scratched and damaging the non-stick
coating.

Cooking with Stainless Steel requires some basic of knowledge, planning, and caring as well . Users often complain that
everything sticks in it and that it discolors easily (loses it's original colours) . The trick to making stainless steel non-stick it to season it in a similar fashion to cast iron.
Using an oil that has a high smoke point (peanut is best but I used coconut) coat the inside of your stainless steel cookware. Place on the stovetop over medium-high heat until pan begins to smoke. Remove from heat, cool, and hand-wash with warm water only: no soap, no dishwasher. You’re pan will feel smooth and clean, but have a copper color due to the seasoning.
Let’s brown some lean ground beef in our newly seasoned stainless steel pan, shall we?
No
stick! And I could stir the meat with anything I wanted metal spoon,
wooden spoon, teflon spoon; it didn’t matter thanks to the seasoning
process.
After using the beef in a recipe I clean the pan by hand using hot water and a dishcloth only. This keeps the copper-colored non-stick coating from the seasoning process on the pan so it’s ready for its next use. If you are OCD about your cookware looking as new as the day you bought it then stainless steel may not be the cookware for you. The Bobby Flay collection from Kohl’s has non-stick alternatives that are sure to please.
